This is the official invite to all members of the NMS EXBA, state chapters, and sets to this year's Independence Day Hike & Games featuring Exboy Coach Bagon, the Bayelsa Re-experience celebrating the legacy of Rev. George Amagala.
An event our dearest National President, Exboy (Engr) Femi Ikuponuyi will be attending as a Special Guest of Honor was initiated by Exboy-Coach Gabon Gabriel Boniface Foxtrot Company, a Kaduna-based celebrity fitness, and gym instructor.
This event is hosted in Bayelsa State by the Public Relations Officer of the NMS EXBA Bayelsa State Chapter Exboy-Nurse Oseimiegha Samuel Inodu Foxtrot Company.
Previously, this event was just a sporty-fun event but has now been reformed structurally with a focus on celebrating worthy Nigerian Heroes past & present, also using this medium to convene Exboys from all over Nigerian and in the diaspora to a particular location to explore its rich history and culture.
Last year's edition celebrated Maj. Isaac Adaka Boro the late Niger Delta activist who declared the Niger Delta Republic in 1966 and fought the Nigerian Forces for 12 days before he was defeated. The event had over 20 visiting Exboys coming from Rivers, Abuja, Kaduna, Lagos, and Borno states and from Ghana, all visiting Bayelsa for the first time. The event was held at the hometown - Kaiama of the late Niger Delta Hero. Mr. Felix Boro. The eldest son of the fallen hero was also present at the event.
This year's edition will be celebrating the legacy of Rev. George Amangala, First Obenabhan (King) of the Ogbia Kingdom and founder of the revered Ogbia Brotherhood which is the Apex socio-cultural group of the Ogbia people of Bayelsa State.
This event will also feature visits to notable historical sites in the Ogbia Kingdom such as
- Oil Well-1, Oloibiri/Otuabagi (First place Crude oil was discovered in West Africa (1956).
- Ogbia Brotherhood Hall, Ogbia town.
- Colonial-era Oil mill, Ayama.
- Kolo Creek SPDC Flow station.
There will also be a lot of Games with amazing prizes to be won.
